James Wan To Develop a Remake of The Zombie Train Movie TRAIN TO BUSAN
James Wan is jumping on board another horror film project and it’s a remake of the Korean zombie trailer movie, Train to Busan. He will produce the film the script of which is being written by Gary Dauberman, who recently wrote the scripts for The Nun and IT: Chapter 2.
There have been five studios in a bidding war for the project. Those studios included New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, Screen Gems, and Universal Pictures. According to Deadline, New Line is currently in negotiations to take it, which should be a good home for the film.
The original movie was a huge hit in South Korea. The movie tells the story of a man and his estranged daughter and other passengers who become trapped on a speeding train during a zombie outbreak in South Korea.
The film is actually really great and worth checking out if you haven’t seen it already. It has a simple story, but the character development is fantastic. With Wan and Dauberman on board to develop the film, I have hope they develop a remake that’s at least just as good as the original film.
