James Wan Will Produce a Horror Camping Movie Called THE TROOP

It was recently reported that The Conjuring director James Wan is developing a hard R original horror film for New Line Cinema that he will direct. Well, now he’s attached to produce another horror movie through his Atomic Monster production company. It’s called The Troop, and it will be an adaptation of a book written by Nick Cutter.

The movie will follow “a group of teens on a remote camping trip who must fend for themselves when their adult chaperone falls prey to an aggressive otherworldly infection.” This actually sounds like it’ll be a fun horror thriller to watch!

Here’s the official book description:

Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip—a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfire. But when an unexpected intruder stumbles upon their campsite—shockingly thin, disturbingly pale, and voraciously hungry—Tim and the boys are exposed to something far more frightening than any tale of terror. The human carrier of a bioengineered nightmare. A horror that spreads faster than fear. A harrowing struggle for survival with no escape from the elements, the infected…or one another.

The film will be directed by E. L. Katz (Cheap Thrills) from a script written by Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald (The Trench), and I’ll be looking forward to watching it! How about you?
