James Wan's SWAMP THING Series Will Not Be Part of the TITANS and DOOM PATROL Universe

The one DC Universe series project that I'm super excited about is the Swamp Thing series that is being developed by James Wan. I was wondering if this show would be set in the same universe as the other DC shows being developed for DC Universe such as Titans and Doom Patrol.

Well, according to CNET, the series won't be connected to those shows at all and it won't have any shared continuity. I'm actually totally on board with this, especially after that Titans trailer was released. I know some fans liked it, but I didn't really care for it. Hopefully the series will be better than what we saw in the trailer. But also, not everything needs to be a shared universe!

Swamp Thing will follow "CDC researcher Abby Arcane, who returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus. She develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland, only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all."

The series is being written and produced by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman. James Wan (Aquaman) is also an executive producer on the series, which is pretty cool. No casting has been announced yet, but I'm sure that information will come.

The studio is looking to launch the series in 2019. What do you think about this latest Swamp Thing update?
