James Wan's SWAMP THING To Begin Filming This Fall

One of the titles being made for DC Universe that many fans are excited for is Swamp Thing. While we haven’t been given a release date, I think it’s safe to assume it will launch in 2019. Especially as Omega Underground is now reporting that the series is set to begin filming this fall in North Carolina. Not much is filmed in North Carolina, but that could work in Swamp Thing’s favor as it could allow for a more flexible schedule.

Swamp Thing will be executive produced by James Wan and Michael Clear with Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman serving as writers. Here’s the official description of the show:

When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
