Jamie Campbell Bower Says Vecna Is "Out for Blood" in Season 5 of STRANGER THINGS and Speculates What He Thinks Is Coming
Jamie Campbell Bower stole the show this season of Stranger Things as the Friendly Orderly/Number 1/Henry Creel/Vecna. He was the biggest, most evil villain the show has seen, and we found out that he was behind all the doom and gloom that Hawkins has experienced. He had several victims this season, and we still don’t know the fate of Max, but we do know that Vecna is coming back for more in Season 5.
In a recent feature interview with NME, Bower talked about how season 4 ended, and what Vecna is feeling going into Season 5:
“He’s pissed, he’s properly vexed. I don’t think he’s slunk off licking his wounds in misery. He’s rebuilding, and he’s out for blood. It’s like, you’ve really fucking pushed the buttons now, that classic Jason Voorhees [the hockey-masked killer from Friday the 13th] thing – you’ve made a big mistake.”
Although Bower doesn’t know what will happen when Vecna returns in Season 5 – Stranger Things’ final run – he does have his own ideas.
“I think Vecna and Will have a connection that’s yet to be explored,” he muses. “As a fan, I’d be interested to see more of that.”
I think he’s on the right track there. We saw the impact of the last Vecna showdown on Will in the final episode, and I know it will be addressed in the final season. I can’t wait! Season 5 of Stranger Things will return to Netflix in 2023.
