Jamie Lee Curtis Confirmed For Disney's THE HAUNTED MANSION and Winona Ryder Jumps on Board
During Disney’s big live-action movie presentation at D23 Expo, director Justin Simien (Dear White People, Bad Hair) came out to introduce the very first footage of his upcoming film The Haunted Mansion. The footage shown was incredibly fun and I think fans of the classic Disney attraction are going to like what they see.
The footage wasn’t only spooky fun, but it’s filled with all the great little details that we all love about The Haunted Mansion. After the footage screen, the director confirmed that Jamie Lee Curtis would be in the film and she came rolling out in a Doom Buggy from the ride. It was a great little reveal. It was also announced that Winona Ryder, Hasan Minhaj, and Dan Levy were going to be in the film.
Curtis was previously rumored for the role, and it was said at the time that she would be playing Madame Leota, the disembodied head of a psychic that lives inside of a crystal ball.
The rest of the ensemble cast for the film includes LaKeith Stanfield (Knives Out), Tiffany Haddish (Bad Trip), Owen Wilson (Loki), Danny DeVito (Jumanji: The Next Level), Rosario Dawson (Zombieland: Double Tap), and Chase Dillon (The Underground Railroad).
In this mysterious adventure,” a doctor (Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for. Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert (Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Haddish) and a crotchety historian (DeVito).”
Haunted Mansion will be released in theaters on March 10, 2023.
