Japan Is Building a Giant Life-Sized Gundam Statue... That Moves!

Several massive life-size Gundam statues have been put up in Japan over the years, but they are about to put up their best one yet!

It was recently announced from the the Gundam franchise's 40th anniversary by the "Gundam Global Challenge" project that they are going to erect a life-size Gundam statue in Japan in the summer of 2020, and it will move!

The image above is what they showed off at the press conference.

This next statue is said to be a one-to-one scale Gundam, and it will be different from the previous moving Gundam statues. They were more limited in their mobility and could only move the head and the cockpit would automatically open.

Judging by the photo above, it looks like this statue will be able to possibly walk around or at least move his legs.

I seriously doubt that we’ll see it running and flying around while blowing up things. But that sure would be cool! I’m really curious to see how exactly this Gundam statue turns out and what it will be able to do.
