Jared Leto Says He's Also Confused About What Warner Bros. is Doing With The Joker

For those of you who are confused about what Warner Bros. is doing with The Joker, you're not alone. Jared Leto admits that he's confused by what the studio is doing as well.

Warner Bros. recently announced that they were developing a Joker origin film outside of the DCEU. This is a standalone film completely separate from anything else that they are doing. Martin Scorsese is producing the film, Todd Phillips (The Hangover) is directing, and the studio hopes to get Leonardo DiCaprio to star in it.

The studio is also moving forward with Suicide Squad 2 and a Joker Harley Quinn movie that will be a part of the DCEU and Jared Leto will reprise his role in those films.

Leto recently talked to ODE during an interview and when questions about the new Joker origin film came up, he said:

“I’m a little confused too, but yeah, there are a couple of things happening in the DC world and I loved the Joker, he’s a great character, a really fun character to play. It’s a big universe and when you play the Joker, there’s no ownership there. You have the honor of holding the baton for a little while and then passing it off. But there are other films in development and I’m excited to see what comes from them.”

I'm personally not the biggest fan of Jared Leto's version of The Joker, so I'm more open to seeing another film with another actor take on the challenge of playing the demented and evil Batman villain. I especially like the talent that they have brought on board to develop it. Whatever is being planned for this Joker origin film, it's gonna be big.
