Jason Bateman Apologizes After Controversial Jeffrey Tambor Remarks

Jason Bateman is apologizing after remarks he made regarding an incident that happened on the set of Arrested Development between Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walters. Bateman took to Twitter to defend himself after the cast interview made waves and painted Bateman as the person defending Tambor and dismissing Walters tearful account of what had happened (via Variety):

Good on Bateman for owning his shit. After reading the initial interview (and hearing the audio), I would've been very disappointed had he doubled down on his stance that Tambor wasn't in the wrong for how he verbally abused Walters to the point of her crying. He wasn't right to be so dismissive of Walters as the incident was traumatizing to her, and something not acceptable in any work environment.

The first half of Arrested Development Season 5 lands on Netflix May 29.
