Jason Bateman Will Direct John Cena in a New Movie Studio-Set Netflix Action Comedy
Jason Bateman (Ozark) is set to direct a new action-comedy for Netflix that will star John Cena. The movie doesn’t have a title yet, but it’s set at an old abandoned film studio and Bateman will also have a role in the movie.
The movie is being written by Game Night scribe Mark Perez and according to to THR, it definitely has a Game Night kind of vibe.
The story follows a family that gets stuck in an old abandoned movie studio and while they are there, the “sets come to life and the family members find themselves stuck in various movies.”
That actually sounds like it could be a lot of fun! It’s got that Night of the Museum concept, but the focus is on movies, which could be a blast for the creative team to play with.
I’ll be looking forward to watching this.
