Jason Bateman To Direct The CLUE Remake and Star Alongside Ryan Reynolds in It

Jason Bateman, fresh off his Emmy Award win for Best Directing in a Drama Series for Netflix’s Ozark, is in talks to direct the live-action remake of the classic murder mystery film Clue. Bateman is also looking to star in the film alongside Ryan Reynolds, who was previously cast.

The film is set up at Fox/Disney and Allspark Pictures. It’s based on the Hasbro board game and Bateman will also work on the script with Reynolds, who is also a producer on the project. Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were previously hired to write the script.

This won’t be the first time that Reynolds and Bateman have worked together. They co-starred in a film together called The Change-Up back in 2011. I’ll be honest, I don’t remember anything about that movie! Regardless, it’ll be fun to see these two talents working together on Clue and with their style and humor, I think they’ll deliver a fun flick.

The original Clue is a fantastically entertaining movie and there’s a lot of people that love that movie. So, the pressure is on for the creative team to deliver something that the fans will enjoy.

What do you think about Bateman directing the Clue remake?
