Jason Biggs Set to Make Directorial Debut With the Action Comedy GETAWAY
Jason Biggs of the American Pie franchise is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming action comedy titled Getaway.
Biggs will also star in the film and he will be joined by Meaghan Rath (Hawaii Five-0), Arturo Castro (Broad City), Justin H. Min (The Umbrella Academy) and Anna Konkle (PEN15).
Getaway centers on Kevin Stanwell (Biggs), “an actor famous for being the mascot for erectile dysfunction ads. With his marriage on the rocks, he attempts to salvage the relationship with his wife Suzie (Rath) by planning a trip for them to the Adirondacks.
“Kevin recruits an actor friend, Ernie Guerra (Castro), to stage a home invasion to make Kevin look like a hero, but when the plan goes awry, the couple find themselves caught up in a murder investigation.”
Biggs said in a statement: “I am absolutely thrilled to be making my directorial debut with the genre-bending Getaway, in partnership with Brad Krevoy and MPCA, Charles Cohen, and an incredible cast led by Meaghan Rath, Anna Konkle, Justin Min and Arturo Castro.
“When I first read the script from Jamie and Joshua, I knew that it would be an exciting challenge to bring this unique story to life, and I’m grateful to be involved.”
The script for the film was written by Jamie Napoli and Joshua Paul Johnson, and it sounds like this will be a fun project for Biggs to take on.
