Jason Blum and James Wan Are in Talks To Merge Their Blumhouse and Atomic Monster Production Companies
Horror movie producers Jason Blum and James Wan are in talks to merge their Blumhouse and Atomic Monster production companies. These production companies have been pumping out one great horror film after another, and now they are looking to become the ultimate horror film factory!
It’s explained that if the merger goes through, “Atomic Monster will benefit from the first-look deal with Universal Pictures that Blumhouse is currently under, having come to the conclusion of its own deal with Warner Bros. over the summer.”
The two companies will continue to operate as separate labels, and each one will maintain its own creative autonomy and brand identity. But, at the same time, they will help strengthen each other and the alliance will increase their combined output.
Atomic Monster will utilize Blumhouse’s “existing infrastructure to scale its activities across film, TV and new content areas including games, live experiences and audio.”
Together, the companies have collectively grossed over $11.6B worldwide since 2004, with their awesome horror projects making up nearly $8.5B of that total. Not too bad. This will make for a great partnership!
