Jason Blum Offers Updates on THE HUNT, THE CRAFT, and Says HALLOWEEN KILLS Is a "Very Big Movie"
Major Hollywood producer Jason Blum, behind knock-out films and series like Whiplash, Get Out, BlacKkKlansman, Sharp Objects, and so many others, has tons of exciting projects coming up, as usual. And at the recent premiere of Blumhouse's latest release, Fantasy Island, TooFab caught up with Blum and got some updates on some of his upcoming films.
Blum’s next film in theaters will be The Hunt, which originally had a release date of October 2019, but is now set to hit theaters next month. The film was shrouded in controversy in the wake of gun-related violence preceding the original release date, because of its subject matter of elitists hunting down conservative, less-wealthy Americans. When asked about the hiccup in the release, Blum said:
"I think the controversy definitely added to the edge," however, he admitted, "if I had to do it again, I would lose the edge and drop the controversy."
Some say there’s no such thing as bad publicity, but it’s probably still not something people would prefer. He then went on to say that the film The Craft is done shooting, but he can’t comment on it, because he hasn’t seen it yet. He will be screening it in the next couple of weeks.
Last up was the update on the highly anticipated sequel, Halloween Kills. While he couldn’t, or maybe just wouldn’t, say much about the plot, he did say:
"Halloween Kills is a very big movie. I can tell you that. The canvas of Halloween Kills is very large."
I have no idea what that means, but it’s exciting. Does this mean the sequel will branch out to a bigger place? A Halloween road trip? Vacation? What do you think it means?
