Jason Blum Says HALLOWEEN Sequels Are Likely Provided It Performs
Remember back when there was news circulating in 2017 that the upcoming Halloween film would be the only film to come from this new effort? Many were skeptical then, and they were right to have been so as famed horror producer Jason Blum is walking back those comments and clarifying he’d love to do a Halloween sequel (via Forbes):
I'd love to do sequels, and I hope we do a sequel and we will do a sequel if the movie performs. We're not going to decide if we do a sequel or not until we see the reaction to this movie. But I really hope to make it.
As Blum mentioned, if the Halloween movie is success, there’s going to be a sequel. That seems like a no brainer considering that’s been true with most Blumhouse films, but it’s still good to hear from Blum nonetheless. Then again, won’t creating multiple sequels to the Halloween sequel run the risk of creating the same cheesy and awful films that led to this version in the first place? Are you down for a new series of Halloween sequels? Do you really care if they’re bad?
