Jason Momoa to Write, Produce, and Star in Limited Series CHIEF OF WAR for Apple TV +
Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Dune) has signed on to write, executive produce, and star in a new limited series that was just picked up by Apple TV+ titled Chief of War. The series marks Momoa’s first writing project for TV, and it was created by Momoa alongside Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. The eight-episode Chief of War “follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.”
Momoa and Sibbett are executive producing with Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg, and Doug Jung, who also serves as showrunner. Justin Chon is in negotiations to direct the first two episodes.
Momoa currently stars in Apple TV+’s post-apocalyptic drama series See, which has been renewed for a third season.
