Jason Momoa's Action Murder Mystery Film THE EXECUTIONER Is KNIVES OUT Meets LORD OF THE RINGS

Warner Bros. has won the rights to Jason Momoa’s action murder mystery film that he working on. After a major bidding war, the studio was able to purchase the movie that is set to be written by Eternals scribes Kaz and Ryan Firpo. Tentatively titled The Executioner, the film is billed as a fun action murder mystery in the spirit of Knives Out meets The Lord of the Rings.

No director is attached as of yet, and the full synopsis is being kept under wraps, but the studio must have really liked what they heard about it to have created such a bidding war. The project puts Momoa back in business with his Aquaman producer Peter Safran, who is producing the Firpo-scripted feature project. Safran is responsible for many of Warner Bros.’ most lucrative franchises including the Conjuring movies and DC titles like The Suicide Squad, its DC/HBO Max’s hit series spinoff The Peacemaker, as well as the Shazam! and Aquaman franchises.

Does this sound like a project you could get behind?
