Jason Scott Lee is Set To Play The Villain Khan in Disney's MULAN
Jason Scott Lee, who is best known for portraying Bruce Lee in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, has been cast to play the villain Khan in Disney live-action adaptation of Mulan. Bori Khan, is described as a "warrior leader who is intent on avenging his father's death."
Lee joins the previously cast Liu Yifei as Mulan, Donnie Yen who will have the role of Mulan’s mentor, Jet Li as the emperor, and Gong Li will play the villainous witch. The movie also stars Utkarsh Ambudkar as the con artist Skath and Ron Yuan will play the role of Sergeant Qiang who is described as "the 'fiercely loyal' second in command of the Imperial Regiment."
This wouldn't be Lee's first time staring in a Disney movie. Back in 1994 he played Mowgli in The Jungle Book and in 2002 he voiced a character in Lilo & Stitch.
The story will most likely be very similar to the animated movie with Mulan disguising herself as a man to join the Imperial army in her father’s place. Apparently, the sets of the film that are being built are an unprecedented scale. I can't wait to see what this film looks like visually.
Niki Caro is directing the film and it's scheduled to be released on March 27, 2020.
