Jason Statham Vs. Giant Shark in Fun First Trailer For THE MEG

The first trailer has been released for the upcoming new film The Meg in which Jason Statham will face off with a giant Megalodon shark! The movie looks like it's going to be a shit ton of shark terror fun! I'm also a huge fan of Jason Statham and this looks like such a perfectly awesome film project for him to be a part of. It looks like it has a good mix of action, comedy, and complete ridiculouslness. I'm sold!

If you enjoy watching anything with sharks in it and anything that involves Jason Statham kicking ass, I don't see how you're not going to love this!

The movie was directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, Cool Runnings) and it also stars Jessica McNamee, Li Bingbing, Winston Chao, Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Cliff Curtis, and Robert Taylor. Here's the synopsis:

A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below.

The Meg opens in theaters on August 10th.
