Jason Statham Was Almost In A Marvel Film

Looks like Jason Statham was reportedly in talks to be in a Marvel film, but unfortunately, things didn't play out. Marvel's Kevin Feige shares the details with Den Of Geek in the quote below:

"We talked with him about doing a role in one of our movies. It didn't end up working out, his schedule didn't work out. I was in another meeting a few days later, and my cellphone rang. I didn't recognize the number, but I answered it. And it was Jason Statham. He was saying 'Sorry it didn't work out, maybe next time'. He couldn't have been nicer."

As for what role Statham was up for, Feige didn't say. Honestly I like the fact that he didn't answer because we can speculate until the cows come home on what role he was up for! Feige said the rejection was rather recent, so it would have to be a film that's currently in development or perhaps just releasing. My best guess is there was a role for Statham somewhere in Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, or perhaps he was tapped to play Vulture before Michael Keaton?
