Jason Statham's MEG 2: THE TRENCH Rounds Out Its Shark Food Cast
Jason Statham is headed back to the ocean to face off with another giant-ass shark in Meg 2: The Trench. That first film sure was some silly fun and I’m sure the sequel will be just as ridiculous.
Meg 2: The Trench has rounded out its cast of shark food. Statham will be joined by Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil, Clifford the Big Red Dog); Skyler Samuels (The Gifted); and Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Snowfall). On top of that, Cliff Curtis, Shuya Sophia Cai and Page Kennedy are reprising their roles.
There aren’t any story details to share for the film, but we do know it will involve the huge prehistoric megalodon shark that will feed on people. And Jason Statham will fight it with his bare hands!
It’s revealed that “Peris-Mencheta is playing one of the film’s antagonists, a hard-edged mercenary. Guillory is the head of an applied sciences division, while Samuels is an adventure-loving member of Statham’s submarine crew.”
Director Ben Wheatley (Free Fire, Kill List, High-Rise) is helming the adventure thriller which is currently in production in the U.K. Jon and Erich Hoeber wrote the script for the project.
