Jason Todd May Make an Appearance in DC's Live-Action TITANS Series
Jason Todd is the second Robin. He takes Dick Grayson’s place after Dick leaves Bruce to be his own man. Jason also goes on to become the Red Hood after Joker kills him in the famous A Death in the Family storyline and he’s brought back by Ra’s al Ghul via the Lazarus Pit. This makes it very interesting that it looks like he’ll be in at least one episode for the upcoming live-action show Titans. The episode names have been released and episode seven is titled, “Jason Todd.” We don’t have any other details regarding what his role will be, so naturally, the rumors and theories are going nuts.
Some say that this could introduce the Red Hood as a villain, but that doesn’t make too much sense unless they really play with the timeline. Others are suggesting that he shows up to gloat about being the new Robin to Dick. I could see it being similar to the story of “Old Wounds” from Batman: The Animated Series where Jason has a fight with Batman and goes to Dick for advice. Of course, “Old Wounds” featured Tim Drake (the third Robin) and was more focused on why Dick left Bruce, but it could maybe be something similar. Maybe Jason will want to join the Titans, but doesn’t make the cut or something, so he goes back to Bruce. What’s your theory as to the role Jason will play?
Here’s the list of episodes that have been reported:
Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire (Diop), Raven (Croft) and others.
Titans is set to debut on DC’s upcoming digital service sometime in 2018.
