Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny Cast in Ryan Murphy's MONSTERS: THE LYLE AND ERIK MENENDEZ STORY

Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny have joined Season 2 of the Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan-created Netflix series Monsters. They join the previously cast Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who are playing Erik and Lyle Menéndez.

The upcoming season will focus on the Menéndez brothers and it’s titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story. The two brothers were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents Jose and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez, and their parents will be played Bardem and Sevigny.

Authorities argued the brothers committed the murders to inherit their father’s fortune, while the brothers maintained that they killed their parents after years of mental and physical abuse. They were later tried together and ultimately found guilty and sentenced to life without parole and remain incarcerated at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in Southern California.

The series is slated to debut later in 2024.
