Javier Bardem Joins Jennifer Lawrence in Darren Aronofsky's Next Film
A couple of months ago, we heard that Jennifer Lawrence had joined director Darren Aronofsky's upcoming indie film, but at the time, details about the plot were impossible to come by. Now, thanks to Variety, we know a little bit more about the project, including a new addition to the cast: Javier Bardem.
The movie, which is still untitled, centers on "a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence." Lawrence is said to be playing one half of the couple, while Bardem is in negotiations to play one of the uninvited guests. The movie is set for release in 2017. We'll be on the lookout for more details about this one to relay to you, but the idea of Aronofsky, Lawrence, and Bardem teaming up sounds like a cool collaboration in the making even without much to go on at this stage.
Meanwhile, Aronofsky is working on a TV series that is going to be filmed in space called One Strange Rock, which seems to have environmental aspirations similar to those he explored in Noah. Lawrence will next be seen this summer in X-Men: Apocalypse, and she also co-stars with Chris Pratt in the sci-fi romance Passengers which will hit theaters in December.
