Javier Bardem Will Join Director Denis Villeneuve's DUNE Adaptation

Javier Bardem is the latest big actor to join Denis Villeneuve's upcoming adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic novel Dune. Bardem will play Stilgar, the leader of a tribe that helps Chalamet’s character.

This film production is bringing on a seriously impressive cast! Bardem will join Oscar Isaac and Rebecca Ferguson who will play Duke Leto Atreides and Lady Jessica. Stellan Skarsgård will play Baron Harkonnen, Dave Bautista will play his murderous nephew, and Charlotte Rampling will play the Reverend Mother Mohiam. Then there’s Zendaya who would play the love interest of Timothee Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides, Chani.

Set in the distant future, Dune follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship with nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.
