J.B. Smoove's Role in Marvel's SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Has Been Revealed

For those of you who have been wondering who exactly J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) plays in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, today we have an answer for you.

Producer Eric Carroll revealed to Screenrant that Smoove will be playing Mr. Dell, a chaperone from the high school who will be accompanying the teens on their vacation to Europe.

It was revealed that the Audi commercial that aired as part of Spider-Man: Homecoming's crossover promotion left a lasting impression on Marvel Studios and in the end, it’s what led to J.B. Smoove landing the gig. You can watch that commercial below.

Carroll went on to talk about Martin Starr returning as Midtown School of Science and Technology teacher Mr. Harrington:

“We’re also bringing back Martin Starr as the hapless Mr. Harrington. Together [with Mr. Dell], they constitute the least-capable group of chaperones ever to be sent to Europe with a bunch of kids.”

He went on to say this about bringing Starr back and teaming him up with Smoove:

"When we knew we wanted a teacher to be escorting these kids across Europe, he was our first choice. So, sure enough, now we've got these two as this amazing comedic pair showing these kids around Europe."

Carroll even teased a little taste of what we can expect to see from the comedic duo, calling Mr. Harrington understated and Mr. Dell very much exaggerated.

"Martin Starr, he's like, 'Okay, kids, there's a water monster. So, maybe we'll-', and then you've got J.B. Smoove doing the exact opposite. 'Are you guys seeing this?!'"

It’ll be a lot of fun watching these two comedic actors play off of each other. I’m sure they will bring some great comic relief to the film. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2nd.

Audi has teamed up with the forthcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie for a spot in which Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) takes his driver's test on the new Audi A8. The ad, by Muhtayzik Hoffer, sees Parker managing to astound the tester (played by "Curb Your Enthusiasm"'s J.B.
