Jean Grey Unleashes Her Power in New Trailer for X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX
The new trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix has dropped, and in it we get to see Jean Grey unleash her epic powers of chaos and death. It’s a pretty intense trailer, and the film is looking better than I thought it would be.
With this being the final X-Men film under the Fox banner before Disney takes over, I hope that it comes to an end on a high note. It’ll probably be awhile before we see these characters on the big screen again after this. Disney and Marvel Studio will bring them back, but it’ll probably be a few years.
Anyway, there are aspects of this trailer that I think are cool, and I just hope that director Simon Kinberg and his team deliver a solid version of this classic X-Men story. Hey! It can’t be any worse that Brett Ratner’s X-Men 3!
One thing this trailer shows us that was pretty surprising was the reveal of a death of a major character. They should’ve saved that for the film. I won’t spoil it for you. You’ll just have to watch the trailer and see who it is.
In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite -- not only to save Jean's soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on June 7th, 2019. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
