Jean Smart is The Queen of Las Vegas in Trailer For The HBO Max Comedy Series HACKS

HBO Max has released the trailer for its upcoming comedy series Hacks, which stars Jean Smart and newcomer Hannah Einbinder. The story follows a millennial comedy writer as she finds an unlikely mentor in a veteran comedian who is looking to appeal to a younger crowd in order to save her Las Vegas residency.

The synopsis reads:

Eat your heart out Celine, there's a new Queen of Vegas. Max Original "Hacks" explores a dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old (Hannah Einbinder). In addition to Smart and Einbinder, "Hacks" stars series regular Carl Clemons-Hopkins and recurring guest stars Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Paul W. Downs, Mark Indelicato, Poppy Liu, Johnny Sibilly, Meg Stalter and Rose Abdoo.

Hacks was created and executive produced by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, who are also serving as showrunners.

The series is scheduled to make its debut on Thursday, May 13, with the first two episodes.
