Jeanine Mason Cast as the Lead in ROSWELL Reboot

We heard a few months ago that The CW was rebooting their old series, Roswell. We then heard a couple weeks ago that they were moving to the production stage of things with the said reboot. Now, it looks like we have the start of our cast. Jeanine Mason has been cast as the lead character. You may recognize Mason as Dr. Sam Bello on Grey’s Anatomy, as the winner of Season 5 of So You Think You Can Dance, or on many other shows including Archer, Criminal Minds, You’re the Worst, and Of Kings and Prophets.

As with the original series from 1999, the reboot is set to follow the Roswell High books from Melinda Metz. The synopsis:

“After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.”

Justin Flavey, Darryl Frank, Lawrence Bender, and Kevin Kelly Brown will executive produce alongside Carina Adly MacKenzie. MacKenzie will also be a writer on this project.
