Jeff Bridges Is a Rogue Fugitive Out For Blood in Trailer For FX's THE OLD MAN
FX has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming action-thriller series The Old Man. It stars Jeff Bridges as a former CIA operative who is now a rogue fugitive on the run, and he’s out for blood, killing anyone who’s coming for him. This looks like a great action-packed series and Bridges is going to give an awesome performance. Some people might say Bridges is getting his own John Wick-style story with the film.
The show is based on the novel by Thomas Perry, and the story centers on “Dan Chase who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. With Dan Chase flushed out of hiding, the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald who draws on reserves she never knew she had in order to survive the day when she learns the truth about her new tenant.”
The movie also stars John Lithgow as Harold Harper, Alia Shawkat as Harold’s protege Angela Adams, E.J. Bonilla as CIA special agent Raymond Waters and Gbenga Akinnagbe as special ops contractor Julian. Amy Brenneman also stars as Zoe McDonald, an ordinary woman who gets dragged into the situation and becomes an unexpected ally to Chase after housing him for a night.
The series was developed and written by Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine, who previously created the Starz series Black Sails. The first two episodes of will debut on June 16th.
