Jeff Bridges is Illustrating His Daughter's Book DADDY DAUGHTER DAY

Dark Horse Comics may be best known for publishing comics and graphic novels, but this October, they’ll be publishing a new children’s book. The 56-page story, Daddy Daughter Day, is coming from a new author/illustrator team to the business of Isabelle Bridges-Boesch, and her father Jeff Bridges. Yes, it is that Jeff Bridges. Bridges is most notably famous for his acting career in a wide variety of films including TRON, The Big Lebowsky, and Iron Man. Now, he’s illustrated a children’s book written by his daughter.

Daddy Daughter Day is about “a simple story from Bridges-Boesch’s youth, where the young Belle declares that one day is “Daddy Daughter Day,” a new celebration that her family is eager to take part in.” Talking about the book, Bridges-Boesch said:

This book has been inside of me for years. When I finally shared the idea with my dad, he was instantly supportive and agreed to do the illustrations. I am so excited to share this book with anyone who wants to have a peek into what it was like to grow up being my dad’s daughter, as well as anyone who is curious about creating their own Daddy Daughter Day (or Mommy Son Day, Sister Brother Day…).

Bridges was excited to work with his daughter on this project as well. He released the following statement:

When your kids are young, you can say, ‘Hey, let’s play pretend, or play a game.’ When they’ve become adults, spending time together is often challenging. Everyone’s busy with their lives, with careers, with work. Daddy Daughter Day gave my dear daughter Isabelle and I a reason to spend time together and have an adventure.

You’ll be able to read Daddy Daughter Day on October 6 and you can pre-order it from Amazon now.
