Jeff Daniels Joins the Cast of Apple's Hit Drama THE MORNING SHOW for Season 5
Emmy-winner Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, The Newsroom) has signed on to join the cast of Apple’s award-winning drama series The Morning Show in it’s upcoming fifth season.
He joins stars and executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. In a major recurring role, Daniels will play Lukas, a self-made billionaire and founder of a well-known investment firm.
In addition to Witherspoon and Aniston, Daniels joins a returning cast that includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm.
Season 4 of The Morning Show takes place in spring 2024, almost two years after the events of Season 3. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America.
Daniels recently recurred on another Apple TV series, the comedy Shrinking, playing Jimmy’s (Jason Segel) dad. He recently starred in American Rust, which ran for two seasons across Showtime and Prime Video, and in Netflix’s limited series A Man In Full.
Daniels was played former FBI director James Comey in The Comey Rule, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. Next up, Daniels will portray President Ronald Reagan in the upcoming Cold War film Reykjavik.
