Jeff Daniels Set to Star as Former FBI Director James Comey in New CBS Miniseries A HIGHER LOYALTY
Actor Jeff Daniels (Terms of Endearment, The Newsroom) has been hired to star as former FBI Director James Comey in the upcoming miniseries adaptation based on the New York Times Number One Bestseller A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership. Deadline offers the following description of the book and upcoming miniseries event:
The seventh director of the FBI, Comey served from 2013-2017, and his book covered his role in helping to change the Bush administration’s policies on torture and electronic surveillance to overseeing the Hillary Clinton email investigation as well as possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, and before that his tenure as a prosecutor of terrorists, mobsters, and Martha Stewart. Of course, a big part of the narrative and focus of the mini is his testy relationship and eventual firing by President Donald Trump.
Filming begins in November, and CBS is deciding whether the series will air on Showtime, CBS All Access, or possibly both. I think this is great casting, as Daniels is a fantastic actor, so I’m definitely interested in this project. Does this sound like a miniseries you’ll want to check out?
