Jeffrey Tambor Criticizes Mike Mignola Over HELLBOY Reboot

Mike Mignola's decision to move forward with a Hellboy reboot has led to a mixed response in the geek community. On one hand, we're getting a gritty Hellboy reboot with Stranger Things star David Harbour, a perfect new Hellboy. On the other, you have guys like Jeffrey Tambor (aka FBI Director Tom Manning) who feel the decision to move forward was a knife in the back to the past franchise's Guillermo Del Toro, and Ron Perlman. Take a look via Cinemablend:

It's a hard pill to swallow, as I'm sure many of us excited are also aware that both Del Toro and Perlman have actively worked to get a third film made for a long time. On the flip side, Hellboy II: The Golden Army turns 10 next year and we've been getting fed the same "maybe" line from Del Toro and Perlman for the past decade. While the two are undoubtedly big contributors to Hellboy's relevance and continued appeal, let's not forget Mike Mignola has always been the guy to pull the trigger.

I'm not really sided up with either side of the argument right now, as I can see both arguments, and it splits me right down the middle. How are you feeling about this situation? Do you think, like Tambor, Mignola owes anything to Perlman and Del Toro?
