Jen Taylor to Reprise Her Role as Cortana in the HALO Series
Showtime’s Halo series is back in production, and apparently there’s been a recast. Jen Taylor will now be reprising her role as the iconic AI character Cortana. In case you didn’t know, Taylor has voiced Cortana in all of the main Halo games.
The role was originally given to Natascha McElhone who was also playing Dr. Cathering Halsey, the one who created the AI. According to IGN, McElhone will still be playing Halsey but, due to COVID-19 scheduling problems, is no longer able to be the AI. I think this is going to be an interesting move.
Taylor voices Halsey in the games, and so it made sense for McElhone to be both characters in the show to mimic that. However, I’m sure fans are very hyped to hear that Taylor is once again their favorite AI.
[A]n epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.
Halo is set to have nine episodes in its first season and also stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Danny Sapani as Jacob Keyes, Olive Gray as Miranda Keyes, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, and three new Spartans played by Natasha Culzac, Bentley Kalu, and Kate Kennedy. The series does not have a release date yet, but I’m excited to see what comes of this show.
