Jenna Ortega Reveals She Auditioned for Denis Villeneuve's DUNE Movies

Jenna Ortega has skyrocketed to stardom with the projects she has chosen/been chosen for. From Disney and Jurassic World voice acting projects to the hit Netflix series Wednesday, she has also starred in the Scream film franchise, and is about to co-star in the highly anticipated sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

She also has another few projects coming up, but just like any actor who has “made it” in Hollywood, Ortega also has her auditions that didn’t go her way.

One of those projects that got away was director Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. In a new BuzzFeed Puppy Interview, Ortega explained:

"I auditioned for Dune when I was about fifteen. I remember just being a big fan of that film and the franchise and everything like that, and being really excited for that interview, because Denis is one of my favorite filmmakers. I think it was Chani. I think it was Zendaya's... but they weren't saying that. Everything was very secret."

That would make sense that Ortega would be up for the Zendaya role. But Ortega is six years younger than Zendaya, and it makes sense that the latter got the role.

Plus Ortega’s career has gotten off to a great start, and she has a solid path carved out ahead of her.
