Jennifer Coolidge Joins the Cast of Warner Bros.' Star-Studded Video Game Movie MINECRAFT
Fresh off her second Primetime Emmy win for HBO’s The White Lotus, actress Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde, A Mighty Wind) has joined the cast of the Warner Bros videogame feature film, Minecraft, which is shooting in New Zealand. She joins previously announced stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen.
The Mojang sandbox title is the bestselling video game of all time, with 300 million copies sold and nearly 140M monthly active players. The film’s plot is under wraps, but Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre) is set to direct, and with several names attached to the script, writing credits are still being determined.
Coolidge will next be seen starring in Riff Raff opposite Ed Harris, Pete Davidson and Dustin Hoffman.
Minecraft is currently in production, and is set to hit theaters on April 4, 2025.
