Jennifer Jason Leigh to Play Female Lead in Tarantino's HATEFUL EIGHT
Jennifer Jason Leigh is in talks to take on the lead female role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming western The Hateful Eight. She will join Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen, who have also been confirmed to star in the movie. The last we heard, Viggo Mortensen was also rumored to be in talks to join the film as a "ruthless gang leader." The movie is scheduled to start shooting in January 2015, and this is what it's about:
The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.
Leigh is a very talented actress who has done of ton of film and TV work over the years, such as Revenge, Weeds, The Machinist, Road to Perdition, and most recently, The Spectacular Now. She definitely has the look of a woman living in the old west. She'll fit right in with a Tarantino movie. Shooting is scheduled to begin in early 2015.
