Jennifer Lopez Stars in Trailer for Her Self-Written Visual Reimagining of Her Life THIS IS ME... NOW
A new trailer has been released for the Jennifer Lopez musical sort-of biopic, This is Me…Now. The movie was written by Lopez, with Matt Walton and Ben Affleck; based on a story by Lopez, director Dave Meyers and Chris Shafer. The singer and actress stars in the film alongside Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofía Vergara, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Kim Petras, and Ben Affleck.
The synopsis reads:
“This is Me…Now is like nothing you've ever seen from JL. A narrative driven, intimate, reflective, sexy, funny, fantastical and highly entertaining musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life. Along with Director Dave Meyers, Lopez creates a genre-redefining immersive cinematic experience: an extravagant visual and sonic feast with impressive choreography, star studded cameos, costumes, sets and blockbuster-worthy visuals. Although an astonishing vivid spectacle, the film is ultimately a heartfelt ode to JL's journey of self-healing and everlasting belief in fairytale endings. Audiences will be captivated and leave hopeful that true love can be more than a dream.”
I like J-Lo, but this looks like a 2-hour music video/fever dream. I’m not so sure she hit the mark in making a movie that both explained herself and will also entertain audiences. But maybe it will be better than it looks. Check out the trailer below, and watch This is Me…Now streaming on Amazon Prime on February 16th.
