Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles Sign First Look Deal at Amazon

Supernatural and The Boys actor Jensen Ackles and his wife, actress Danneel Ackles (One Tree Hill), are taking their production company, Chaos Machine, to Amazon for a first look TV deal. The pair previously had a similar deal at Warner Bros. TV. It was reported in October 2022 that they had extended the WBTV deal for another two years, but they have now exited that deal for Amazon.

According to Variety, an individual with knowledge of the situation, the Ackles and WBTV parted ways on good terms, and any projects Chaos Machine had in development with their now former studio home remain in the works. The WBTV deal was solely a producing deal, while the Amazon deal covers both acting and producing.

The new deal marks an extension of the relationship between Jensen and Amazon, as he previously starred in Season 3 of the streamer’s hit series The Boys as Soldier Boy.

They said of the partnership:

The Ackles formed Chaos Machine in 2020. Most recently, the company produced The CW series The Winchesters, which acts as a prequel to the hit drama series Supernatural, in which Jensen starred throughout the show’s 15-season run. He also serves as the narrator on The Winchesters, which is currently airing its first season.
