Jeremy Allen White Teases Bigger Team-Up Role for Rotta the Hutt in THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU
Fans are looking forward to the return of Mando and The Child in their upcoming big screen Star Wars adventure film The Mandalorian and Grogu. In this new chapter of the pair’s lives, “The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy.
As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”
But it looks like the duo may be more of a trio in the flick, if we are to believe a recent tease from actor Jeremy Allen White. The actor, who is at the peak of stardom for starring in the hit series The Bear, as well as playing beloved musician Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic, sat down on The Graham Norton Show to discuss his role in the upcoming Star Wars film.
White was asked about his experience in the Galaxy Far, Far Away, in which he plays Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt. White responded, "That's correct. That's dad," he said upon being presented with a photo of Jabba.
"You know, it's interesting...I can't say too much about it, but no, I look very much like that in the film. I just do voice work, I'm not putting on any, you know. He's just a bit broader, but still a Hutt. It's him and The Mandalorian running around for a lot of the movie together. Rotta can move quickly."
Who knows what could lead to Rotta joining ranks with Mando and Grogu, but I’m excited to find out. They are an unlikely band of misfits, but knowing writer/director Jon Favreau is behind this, I feel like we are in for a good time at the movies.
The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theatres on May 22, 2026.
