Jeremy Irons and Tobin Bell Join Director Darren Lynn Bousman's Horror Film CELLO
Director Darren Lynn Bousman of the Saw franchise has just completed production on a new horror movie he directed called Cello. This is an English and Arabic-language horror movie that was shot under the radar in Saudi Arabia.
The movie stars Jeremy Irons (Die Hard with a Vengeance, Justice League, House Of Gucci), Tobin Bell from the Saw franchise, Syrian actor Samer Ismail (The Day I Lost My Shadow), and Saudi actress Elham Ali (Ashman).
The movie tells the story of “an aspiring cellist who learns that the cost of his brand-new cello is a lot more insidious than he first thought.” The film was based on a novel by Turki Al Alshikh, who also wrote the script for the movie. It sounds like it’s an interesting story, and I’m excited to learn more about it.
Bousman said in a statement, “I have been blessed to have many adventures in my filmmaking career. None have compared to the production of Cello. I was able to traverse the globe, and work with an international cast and crew. I am excited for the world to see this terrifying tale from the mind of Turki Al Alshikh and am humbled to have had a small part in its creation.”
The film, shot on location in Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic. The Haunting Of Bly Manor and Shazam! cinematographer Maxime Alexandre served as DoP, and the film is being edited by Harvey Rosenstock (Homeland, Scent of a Woman) with music by composer Joseph Bishara (Insidious, The Conjuring).
