Jeremy Irons is Rumored to Be Playing Ozymandias in HBO's WATCHMEN Series

Last week we learned that Jeremy Irons had landed a lead role in HBO and Damon Lindelof's Watchmen series. There were no details on the character initially given, but some new information has come to light. This info seems to indicate that Irons could be portraying an older version of Adrian Veidt, a.k.a. Ozymandias.

According to That Hashtag Show, Irons' character is referred to as the "Blond Man", and they offer up a more detailed description of what the character is like saying that he's "highly intelligent and won’t let you forget it. Think William Hurt with slight Asperger’s. He’s used to being obeyed and always correct. Arrogant, erudite and patrician. Physically fit, he’s never missed a workout in his life."

I don't know about you, but to me, that sounds a lot like Ozymandias, who, as you know, was the mastermind behind the "psychic squid" hoax and murdered millions in order to prevent World War III.

We also know that Veidt will factor into the series in some capacity thanks to some leaked photos, but we don't really know in what capacity.

There's no confirmation that Iron is playing Ozymandias. We're just putting all the puzzle pieces together in hopes that Irons will be playing the character because he's kind of a perfect choice. What do you think about the possibility of Irons taking on this role?
