Jeremy Irons Returns for Jason Statham’s Action Sequel THE BEEKEEPER 2

Jeremy Irons is stepping back into the world of covert operations and high-stakes action, returning for Miramax and Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming Jason Statham sequel The Beekeeper 2.

In the first film, Irons played Wallace Westwyld, a former CIA director who headed up security for Danforth Enterprises. With his return confirmed, fans can expect his sharp, commanding presence to once again play a pivotal role in the story.

The sequel is being directed by Timo Tjahjanto, with a script from Kurt Wimmer. Cameras are set to roll this fall, and the film will be released globally by Amazon MGM Studios. Miramax is financing and producing the film.

Tjahjanto has previously helmed films such as The Night Comes For Us and May the Devil Take You. He’s currently riding high with his English-language debut, Universal’s Nobody 2, starring Bob Odenkirk, which is now playing in theaters.

The first film turned out to be a surprise hit, racking up $162.6 million at the global box office and earning a 92% Verified Hot rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

In addition to The Beekeeper 2, Irons is set to appear in Season 4 of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, Annemarie Jacir’s Palestine 36 premiering at TIFF, and Cage Bird, which was recently shot in Sri Lanka.

With Statham jumping back into action and Irons bringing his undeniable screen presence, The Beekeeper 2 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting sequels on the horizon.
