Jeremy Piven Dives Into Dark Hypnosis and Murder in Official Trailer for PAST LIVES

If you’re in the mood for a psychological thriller that digs into reincarnation, serial killers, and the dangers of hypnosis, there’s a new indie film headed your way.

Trinity Content Partners has released the trailer for Past Life, a UK horror thriller that shouldn’t be confused with the Oscar-nominated Past Lives.

Directed by Simeon Halligan, the filmmaker behind Splintered, The Blood Lands, and Habit, and the director of the Grimmfest Film Festival, Past Life looks like a chilling descent into fractured memory and buried violence.

The film stars Jeremy Piven, Aneurin Barnard, Pixie Lott, and Tim McInnerny in what’s described as a “sharp and enthralling new feature” that plays with timelines and psychological instability.

At the center of the story is Jason, a man who doesn’t buy into reincarnation until a hypnosis session cracks something open in his mind. Instead of discovering a glamorous former identity, he’s confronted with something far darker.

When a traumatised former war reporter undergoes past life regression as part of a public event, the experience unleashes memories that don’t belong to him, or at least shouldn’t.

Rather than visions of ancient royalty or lost romance, he becomes haunted by the thoughts and impulses of a 1980s serial killer. That realization sets off a twisted mystery that reaches back four decades.

The synopsis teases a story where a skeptical journalist partners with a renowned hypnotist named Bevan to untangle what’s real and what isn’t. But as hypnosis sessions dig deeper, crimes from the past begin to echo in the present.

The film is described as: “This sharp and enthralling new feature twists timelines, as crimes from the past are reawakened when a traumatized journalist crosses paths with a famous hypnotist.”

If you’re a fan of cerebral horror thrillers that mess with identity and memory, Past Life might be one to queue up when it hits VOD.

Past Life is now avilable to watch on VOD.
