Jeremy Renner on When an AVENGERS and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Crossover Might Happen
A lot of Marvel fans are wondering when exactly we'll finally get to see the Avengers crossover with Guardians of the Galaxy in the MCU. A lot of fans speculate that it could happen when the Avengers: Infinity War films come around in a few years. According to Jeremy Renner, it sounds like we're going to have to wait a lot longer than that!
At his Wizard World Chicago panel this past weekend, Renner basically indicated that Marvel has no plans to do a crossover with these characters anytime soon, and that there were no plans to include them in Infinity War.
In regards to when these two superhero teams would team up he joked,
"You'll be eighty years old by then, and I won't be Hawkeye anymore. I'll be Dead Guy."
Of course, even if Marvel was planning to bring these characters together, there's no way he'd ever say anything! It's not like he going to go to Wizard World in Chicago and confirm that the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy will be appearing together in any of the upcoming Marvel films. He would get so much heat from Marvel over something like that.
I don't take this as confirmation that the heroic groups will not appear together in the Infinity War films. I still believe there's still a chance. But even if it doesn't happen, that's fine. I'm sure fans are going to love the movies regardless. As long as we keep seeing the story of the Guardians of the Galaxy continue, with or without the Avengers, I'll be happy.
