Jeremy Renner Says KNIVES OUT 3 Co-Stars Gave Him "A Lot Of Support" in His First Movie After His Accident
Actor Jeremy Renner is lucky to be alive after the harrowing snowplow accident that almost claimed his life on New Year’s Day in 2023. The actor has been able to pull off a full recovery, and has returned to play the lead role in his series, Mayor of Kingstown. He also returned to the set of his first film since recovering, and he has a lot of great things to say about the experience.
Renner shot the film Wake Up Dead Man, the third movie in director Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series, in which he plays the character Dr. Nat Sharp, opposite a wildly talented ensemble, which these films are known for.
When asked in an interview at Variety‘s TIFF Studio alongside his costars, what the experience was like making the movie, Renner responded:
“It’s a lot of support, man. It’s lovely to have it. There’s such a communion and camaraderie that happens, especially on a movie like this. This is not even really a movie to me, it’s more like a stage play.
“We’re always together, we’re always in each other’s faces, even when we’re acting. When you have 15 people on a camera, you spend a lot of time with them. It reminds me of doing a play. It feels good to be back and welcomed back to the job that I love, with really great people.”
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film in the series, also stars Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church.
The film debuted on September 6th at TIFF, and it will be released in select theatres on November 26, and on December 12 on Netflix.
