Jerry Seinfeld Set to Release a Decade-by-Decade Book of His Favorite Comedy Material
Actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld has signed off on a second book for fans to enjoy. His first book, SeinLanguage, was all about his world view, in a comedic tone of course. This next book, untitled for now, will actually be filled with his comedy gold from the decades he has been a comedian. Deadline reports that Seinfeld explained in a statement:
“Whenever I came up with a funny bit, whether it happened on a stage, in a conversation, or working it out on my preferred canvas, the big yellow legal pad, I kept it in one of those old school accordion folders. So, I have every piece of stand-up comedy I thought was worth saving from 45 years of hacking away at this for all I was worth.”
The report goes on to sing praises of the book in the works, with President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster, Jonathan Karp, saying the book will allow readers “to see Jerry and his comedy evolve through the years.” He said the publishing house expects the book “to be both a highlight of 2020 and a lasting work for anyone who appreciates the thrilling but unforgiving art of stand-up comedy writing.”
This is great news! I love Jerry, from the Seinfeld series to his stand-up, and his hilarious series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. So I can’t wait to read this book, or preferably, listen to it read by Jerry himself! We will let you know when the book gets a release date. Are you looking forward to checking it out?
