Jesse Eisenberg Set to Direct a Musical Comedy with Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti Starring
Jesse Eisenberg (A Real Pain) has set up his next film project, an untitled musical comedy, and Julianne Moore (The Room Next Door) and Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers) are set to star in the movie.
The film follows “a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a local production of an original musical. Under the spell of the strong-willed and enigmatic director, she loses herself in the role and the high-stakes world of this community theater production.”
Eisenberg is a talented actor and director, I really liked his recently released film A Real Pain. It’s a strong little indie film worth checking out.
A Real Pain centers on Eisenberg as David, who along with mismatched cousin Benji (Kieran Culkin), embarks on a journey through Poland to pay tribute to their cherished grandmother.
What begins as a heartfelt homage quickly unravels as lingering tensions between the pair resurface, all while they navigate the deeply intertwined threads of their family’s past.
Eisenberg will direct this new film from his own script, and he is also contributing to the original music.
