Jessica Alba Joins the Cast of Netflix's Reimagining of 13 GOING ON 30

Jessica Alba (Never Been Kissed, Sin City) has signed on to co-star in the Netflix reimagining of the romantic comedy 13 Going On 30.

She joins previously announced cast members Emily Bader, Logan Lerman and Adeline Rudolph. Alba’s role, as well as the film’s logline, are being kept under wraps. Jennifer Garner, who starred in the original film, is an exec producer on the sequel, which kicked off production in L.A. last month.

Released in 2004 by Columbia Pictures, 13 Going on 30 centers on a 13-year-old girl who magically wakes up as her 30-year-old self and must navigate adulthood while rediscovering who she really is. Garner played the grown-up version of the character, starring opposite Mark Ruffalo in the beloved film from Gary Winick.

The original is a fan favorite that has held up over the years, so I don’t really see the need for a remake, but nobody seems to ask the audience what we think. Who knows, maybe they will make another fun flick out of this story. Stay tuned for updates.
